The company Piano Master was established in 1998.

The owner, Johan Viljoen, has more than 25 years experience in the piano industry. In 1985 Johan attained a diploma in piano tuning and restoring after doing a three-year-course in Worcester in the Western Cape. Part of the course was an apprenticeship of nine months at the Dietmann Piano Factory in Wellington.

Johan Viljoen is a member of the South African Association for Professional Piano Tuners.

Piano Master is a well-known name through-out Pretoria. Several large institutions such as the University of Pretoria, the Pretoria State Theatre and UNISA, as well as a number of well-known schools such as Pretoria Boys High, Afrikaans Hoër Seunskool, Afrikaans Hoër Meisieskool and Hoërskool Menlopark, use Piano Master to tune and maintain their pianos.

Apart from doing work in Pretoria, Piano Master has clients from Klerksdorp and Thabazimbi in North West, Mussina in Limpopo to Middelburg in Mpumalanga and Heidelberg in Gauteng.accommodated clients as far as Mussina in Limpopo and Thabazimbi in North West.
